Dancer Wins "America’s Got Talent"
September 19, 2013

Kinechi Ebina knows how to get himself seen, and it’s paying off big-time. The self-taught dancer with reality-defying, contortionist moves has already appeared in his own TED Talks performance and won first place with his hip-hop group and as a soloist at Amateur Night at the Apollo. Last night, he was crowned the winner of “America’s Got Talent” Season 8, beating out country singer Jimmy Rose and comedian Taylor Williamson. Ebina wins $1 million, plus his own show in Las Vegas.

For his final performance, Ebina reworked his first audition routine, saying he wanted to make the piece better and make himself unique. He certainly succeeded in that, appearing at different moments to behead himself, levitate and even twist his arm all the way around. It’s freaky stuff, but standing out in the crowd has clearly been the key to this mover’s success, not to mention his millionaire status!
