This New Dance Musical Wants to Empower Audiences to Create Positive Changes in Their Communities
September 7, 2018

Mark Stuart‘s latest work, When Change Comes, opens this weekend in Rockville Centre, New York. The show confronts social issues throughout American history and asks the question: Can the act of “seeing” each other without judgment or fear break the cycle of intolerance?

Stuart, who was the associate choreographer of Andy Blankenbuehler’s latest Broadway hit, Bandstand, describes the show as “a theatrical social change project.”

“The social change project is the change we are trying to create in the world,” said Stuart via e-mail. “We think that small acts of kindness can create huge tidal waves of positive change, and we think young people are just the ones to do it!”

The 90-minute “experience,” features Broadway dancers, actors and musicians and will be followed by discussions with Stuart and the cast. Here’s a quick sneak-peak of the show, which opens at Madison Theatre at Molloy College.
