What Do You Think of the Ballerina Trailer?

Has anyone seen the trailer yet for the upcoming animated film Ballerina? It’s a French-Canadian film (in English), set in 1879, about an orphan girl with no formal ballet training who goes to study at the Paris Opéra. There’s some dance- and pop-star power attached: Maddie Ziegler voices Camille, a rival student, and Carly Rae Jepsen is the mysterious caretaker of the Opéra who offers support to Félicie, the main character played by Elle Fanning.

Although the trailer includes some questionable practices—we briefly see Félicie dancing on pointe in her street shoes, for example—it’s worth noting that the filmmakers worked with POB stars Aurélie Dupont and Jérémie Bélingard to create realistic choreography.

It won’t open until December in the U.S., but the trailer is definitely worth watching:
