Koresh Dance Company

It’s not too late to catch the tail end of the Alabama Dance Festival! With an impressive roster of master class faculty members, dance teacher workshops and performances, this festival takes place in Birmingham through January 20. The festival kicked off with a free “Meaning, Context and Motion” teacher workshop, which was intended to ready educators for movement-based arts integration—teaching curriculum units via dance. To complement this workshop, teachers are encouraged to take their students to a performance of the festival’s resident dance troupe, Koresh Dance Company. There are also master classes, ranging in genre from modern to gaga to bharatanatyam, for both professional and pre-professional dancers. So what are you waiting for? See alabamadancecouncil.org for ticket information!
