Murray Monster practices swan arms with NYCB dancer Sara AdamsThis week, “Sesame Street” viewers will learn what it’s like to be a professional dancer. Murray Monster and his lamb friend Ovejita paid a visit to the New York City Ballet studios at Lincoln Center for the show’s “People in Your Neighborhood” segment. The Muppets talked shop with NYCB dancers and learned about foot positions, dance equipment like the barre and pointe shoes and how dancers tell stories with their bodies. Young viewers will see that ballerinas are hard workers with special talents, but they’re people, too, doing a job that anyone can aspire to. The segment will air nationally tomorrow, April 4 (check your local listings for times), but you can get a sneak peak online now:
