August 28, 2015

Students perform contemporary choreography of artistic director Edmund Stripe.

The School of Alberta Ballet in Canada launches a contemporary dance program this September, for professional division students in grades 11 and 12. Graham McKelvie joins the school as program head. McKelvie trained at Canada’s National Ballet School before joining Toronto Dance Theatre and, later, Coleman Lemieux & Compagnie. Accepted students will take daily contemporary dance classes and study partnering, contemporary repertoire and composition. The School of Alberta Ballet currently enrolls more than 500 students in its professional and open divisions.
