When you hear “Harlem,” you probably picture a tough neighborhood in New York City. But the Harlem dance studio Groove With Me offers inner-city girls the chance to take class for free. It’s the brainchild of Abby McCreath, who instills discipline and commitment in her students, ranging in age from kindergartners to high school seniors.

It’s a pretty special setup: The school has more than 35 dance teachers, all of whom volunteer their time. And kids pay exactly $0 to be there. This month, the studio celebrates its 20th anniversary.
