It's officially the one month out of the year that's exclusively about gratitude, and there's nothing dance enthusiasts are more thankful for than our dance teachers. They're everything to us!

Case in point: we reached out to Marymount Manhattan freshman and former Billy Elliot: The Musical star, Tade Biesinger, and asked him to write a thank-you letter to his hometown studio owner/teacher Kandee Allen. The result brought tears to our eyes! How Biesinger feels about Allen is how all of us feel about our teachers.

Trust us: It will be well worth it! —Haley Hilton

Dear Kandee,

From a young age, I have deeply appreciated your willingness to help me become a better dancer and person. To this day you push me to work hard and to seek meaningful opportunities that will help me grow and further develop myself.

As I look back at all of the amazing memories we've had together, I feel so fortunate to have shared them with you. From my first day at the studio to now dancing in college you have been so supportive of my short- and long-term goals. I am so grateful that you have helped me learn to become a good sport and to always do my best. Throughout my life, I have felt your sincere desire to help me strive for success, and most importantly, help me feel loved.

I can only imagine the work and time that you put in to manage an entire studio. As you have carried such a time-consuming role, I will always be thankful for your ability to take personal time out of your day to check on my family and me.

I admire your sense of humor and thoughtfulness. You make me laugh and tell the best stories. You make it a point to get things done efficiently, and I am extremely grateful for your ability to teach me to be a hard-worker.

Beyond being my dance teacher, I will always be thankful for our friendship and can't wait to continue making more memories with you.

Thank you for all you do!

Love ya!

Tade
