Dance and the Election?

Two words that don’t normally go together: dance and politics. But in recent weeks, dance has come up several times. Here are a few examples:

1.) Both Barack and Michelle Obama have danced on comedian Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime talk show. Recently, the Democratic presidential hopeful was a guest via satellite and proclaimed that he’s a better dancer than his opponent John McCain. Check it out here:

2.) Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s makeup artist, Amy Strozzi, has been in the headlines recently for being the highest paid member of the McCain-Palin 2008 campaign during the first two weeks of October. Coincidentally, Strozzi was also nominated for an Emmy award for her work on “So You Think You Can Dance?”

3.) And probably the funniest dance/politics bit I’ve seen—and, yes, I did see this on the morning news:
