The International Association of Blacks in Dance annual conference is the only national gathering of U.S. black dance professionals, drawing more than 300 executive and artistic directors, company managers, choreographers, presenters and agents.
January 16–19, these professionals will gather in Dallas, Texas, to network and take part in master classes, panels, workshops and lecture/demonstrations. Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Philadanco!, Lula Washington Dance Theatre, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Dance Theatre of Harlem and Ailey II will each perform as part of a January 18 showcase. And Dance Theatre of Harlem artistic director Viginia Johnson and Philadanco! resident choreographer Milton Meyers will be honored with the 2014 IABD Honors Celebration Award the following day.
