Ballet Meets Dance Theater
April 9, 2014

For the second year in a row, 2013 Princess Grace awardee Rosie Herrera has been chosen by Ballet Hispanico for the company’s Instituto Coreográfico, during which she will continue working on Show.Girl., the piece she began creating during her first residency. This choreographic workshop allows Latino choreographers to develop, with the help of artistic mentors and showings, a new piece–which may be inducted into Ballet Hispanico’s permanent repertory. Herrera, whose dance theater work was discovered by former American Dance Festival director Charles Reinhart in 2009, has already been commissioned by ADF three times. Herrera’s Princess Grace Choreographic Fellowship prize was awarded for her previous work with ballet Hispanico.
