The following combinations are an "on-the-spot" description and notation from watching the Tudor ballet class demonstration as taught by Bonnie Mathis:


Tendu combination at the barre:

  • Start in fifth position with the right leg front

  • Prepare the arms front, open side

  • Plié (count 1)

  • Tendu front (count 2)

  • Close fifth position (count 3)

  • Tendu front (count &)

  • Close fifth position (count 4)

  • Dégagé front (count 5)

  • Passé (count 6)

  • Close fifth position (count 7)

  • Hold (count 8)

  • Repeat en croix



Grand Battement combination in center:

  • Start in fifth position, right leg front, en face

  • Tendu front with the right leg on the up beat (count 4) of the preparation

  • Close fifth position (count 1)

  • Grand battement side with right leg (count 2)

  • Close fifth position with right leg behind (count 3)

  • Tendu front with the left leg (count 4)

  • Close fifth position (count 1)

  • Grand battement side with left leg (count 2)

  • Close fifth position with left leg behind (count 3)

  • Tendu back with the left leg (count 4)

  • Close fifth position (count 1)

  • Grand battement side with left leg (count 2)

  • Close fifth position with left leg front (count 3)

  • Tendu back with the right leg (count 4)

  • Close fifth position (count 1)

  • Grand battement side with right leg (count 2)

  • Close fifth position with right leg front (count 3)
