Lil Buck Dancing in a Paris Museum Is Basically Its Own Piece of Art

Memphis jookin star Lil Buck has made a new film with Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris, and it’s simple, masterful and stunning. Set to a beautifully evocative piano score by Evgueni & Sacha Galperine, Buck just does his glide thing (I always think of jookin as dancing underwater) around famous works of art—Picasso, Degas, Matisse—and is totally mesmerizing.

Interestingly, in the film’s voiceover, Buck mentions that when he was 16, he made a deal with an artistic director that he would teach hip hop and, in exchange, he’d learn ballet.
