Ibuprofen and Troublesome Tendinitis
July 20, 2016

Taking ibuprofen is often the first response to aches and pains from dancing, including tendinitis. NSAIDS (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like ibuprofen may blunt the pain, but recent research shows that not only do they not help heal tendinitis, they may actually slow the healing process by inhibiting the production of essential tissue-mending collagen. Remember, ibuprofen is only for temporary pain relief. As an alternative, talk to your doctor about trying some light strength training, which, in some studies, has proven to help heal sore tendons.
