Slavenska in Arabian Nights

Hey, Californians! Here’s something for you to check out: The Emmy Award–winning documentary Mia, A Dancer’s Journey is screening for free at CalArts a week from today at 1:30 pm. The film celebrates the life and career of Mia Slavenska, a ballerina with the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and former CalArts faculty member. Plus, an exhibition of photographs and documents related to Slavenska, courtesy of the CalArts Special Collections and Institute Archives, will be on display in the library through the end of August.

After the film screening, the producers—including Maria Ramas, Slavenska’s daughter—will host a Q&A, followed by a reception. Click here for a trailer and here for more details about the screening.

Don’t miss a single issue of Dance Teacher.
