ADF to Honor Irene Dowd and Angelin Preljocaj

The American Dance Festival presents awards this summer to: Irene Dowd (DT, March 2008) who will receive the 2014 Balasaraswati/Joy Ann Dewey Beinecke Endowed Chair for Distinguished Teaching honor on June 15; and Angelin Preljocaj, who will be given the Samuel H. Scripps/American Dance Festival lifetime achievement award on July 11. A faculty member at The Juilliard School, Dowd is well-known for her practice in kinesthetic anatomy and neuromuscular re-education. Preljocaj is a French choreographer who created his own company, Ballet Preljocaj, in 1984. He serves as artistic director of the Pavillon Noir in Aix-en-Provence.
