Baryshnikov in “Coppélia” with American Ballet Theatre

Mikhail Baryshnikov will receive the Hubbard Street Dance Chicago 2014 Spotlight Award on May 19 for his innumerable contributions to the field of dance over four decades, as everything from a world-renowned performer (he was a principal with both American Ballet Theatre and New York City Ballet) to a mentor (he launched the Baryshnikov Arts Center in 2005) to an actor (The Turning Point, White Nights). As part of the evening, HSDC will also unveil a sneak peak of its upcoming October 2014 collaboration with Chicago’s world-famous comedy group The Second City.
